This privacy policy explains how I, Valentina Willa, handle personal data on valentinawilla.com. It covers data processed under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG), and applicable Costa Rican law.

2. What data I collect
When you visit valentinawilla.com, the following data may be processed:
Server log files. My hosting provider Squarespace, Inc. (USA) automatically processes your IP address, browser type, time of visit, and referrer URL for technical operation and security. This data is anonymised or deleted within a short period.
Cookies. Squarespace sets technically necessary cookies. With your consent, additional analytics cookies may be set. You can manage your cookie preferences via the banner shown on first visit and revoke consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies for this site.
Booking data. When you book a free chemistry call or a paid session via Cal.com, the following data is processed: your name, email address, time zone, scheduled time, and any notes you provide. Cal.com, Inc. (USA) processes this data on my behalf as a sub-processor.
Contact data. When you email me, write to me via WhatsApp, or use any contact form on this site, I store your name, email address (or phone number), and the content of your message in order to respond. I keep this data only as long as needed to handle our communication, plus statutory retention periods where applicable.
External fonts and embeds. This site loads Google Fonts. If videos from YouTube or Vimeo are embedded on a page, those services may set cookies once you click play.
3. Lawful basis for processing (GDPR Art. 6)
I rely on the following lawful bases:
— Performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) for booking and email correspondence.
— Legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) for technical operation of the website and basic security.
— Consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) for analytics cookies and any direct-marketing communication you opt into.
You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
4. Data transfers outside the EU and Switzerland
My hosting provider (Squarespace, Inc.) and booking provider (Cal.com, Inc.) are based in the United States. Where data is transferred there, the transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, on standard contractual clauses, or on your explicit consent.
5. How long I keep your data
— Email correspondence: until our communication is concluded, plus any statutory retention periods.
— Booking data: deleted within twelve months of our last interaction, unless an active engagement is ongoing.
— Server logs: deleted by Squarespace according to its policy, typically within 30 days.
— Newsletter data (if you sign up): until you unsubscribe.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR and revDSG you have the right to:
— Access the personal data I hold about you.
— Request correction of inaccurate data.
— Request deletion ("right to be forgotten") within legal limits.
— Restrict processing in certain situations.
— Receive your data in a portable format (data portability).
— Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
— Withdraw consent at any time.
— Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for example, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner in Switzerland (edoeb.admin.ch) or your national data protection authority in the EU.
